Candice Graham

Clinical Psychologist / Director

Candice is a Clinical Psychologist and the Director of Sage of Mind. She is a client-focused therapist and is passionate about her work. Candice individually caters therapeutic styles to meet her client’s needs. Therapy can be provided via face-to-face therapy at the Picton office and/or phone/Skype/FaceTime sessions (telehealth - which Medicare also offer rebates for since November 1, 2017). She is also a Clinical Supervisor for all streams of gaining full registration.

Catherine Sheekey

Registered Psychologist

Catherine is a Registered Psychologist with over 10 years’ experience working in a range of public and private settings. She has throughout this time worked with children, adolescents, adults, older adults, couples and families. She has had further experience working with issues pertaining to mental illness, crisis case management, eating disorders, trauma/grief and loss, rehabilitation, substance use and systematic family issues.

She is a client-focused therapist and is passionate about her work. Catherine individually caters therapeutic styles to meet her client’s needs. Therapy can be provided via face-to-face therapy at the Picton office and/or phone/FaceTime sessions.

Catherine is also a Board Approved Supervisor.

Lisa Wilson

Registered Psychologist

Lisa is a registered psychologist, an accredited neuropsychotherapy practitioner and has a master’s in counselling and psychotherapy

She works within the private sector providing individual and group counselling in a range of areas.

Lisa believes that the core therapeutic values of empathy, validation and a safe space to process emotions are integral to the healing process. Lisa works on meeting the client ‘where they are’ using a client centred and neuroscience based approach. Lisa is aware of the complexities that life events can bring and the importance of having a safe space to talk about our feelings so they can be expressed and validated.

Lisa also works as a retreat counsellor at “QUEST”. She is passionate about, and grateful for this role because she is able to incorporate QUEST philosophies to provide an empathic and compassionate environment to facilitate healing.

Smrity Sharma

Registered Psychologist

Smrity is a Registered Psychologist and sees children, adolescents and adults for therapy. She has experience in helping those struggling with mild or severe mental illness (such as Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder), adjustment to medical illness as well as difficulties such as financial hardship, exam anxiety, gaming addiction; and also has experience in working with victims of domestic violence. Smrity has a special interest in Autism Spectrum Disorders, treating and experience in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) also has a reputation for thorough and skilled
psychological assessments, and of being knowledgeable, professional, and above all, genuine and caring.

Cara Nicita

Provisional Psychologist, Sage of Mind - available at Picton

Cara is a provisional psychologist with a passion for helping people to achieve their goals and overcome life’s challenges.

 

She is guided by a person-centred and humanistic approach to therapy and uses evidence-based techniques from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness. Cara focuses on working with each unique “whole person”, using psychological therapies as well as empowering people to improve their mental and physical health and wellbeing with Therapeutic Lifestyle Interventions that help in managing stress and mood throughout life.

Cara has experience working collaboratively with clients in the disability sector, and has previously worked to support those with complex needs, such as people with mood disorders, schizophrenia and domestic violence and trauma backgrounds, as well as children with challenging behavioural issues.

Her qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology and International Relations) and Graduate Diploma in Psychology Advanced (First Class), and she is currently undertaking the internship pathway to full registration. Cara adheres to core principles of compassion, respect and dignity, and brings her experience from her previous working life in the creative sector to her passion for understanding and supporting people to reach their potential.

Linda Muir

Linda Muir

Registered Psychologist, Sage of Mind - available at Mittagong

Linda has been a practicing registered psychologist for over 15 years. She has practiced both in the public and private sector. She enjoys working collaboratively with clients in a warm, safe, confidential and supportive environment. She likes to help her clients to identify important goals they wish to achieve, and/or barriers needed to be identified and overcome. She provides assessment, education and skills to ensure her clients achieve their goals and treatment desires, safely and effectively.

 

Her approach is eclectic and tailored to the needs of each specific client/couple. There are many reasons individuals and couples seek treatment and all are treated with respect, compassion and empathy.

 

She works with individuals and couples from 18 years to 65 and upwards to support and facilitate their treatment and recovery across a range of psychological issues including depression, anxiety, adjustment disorder, personality vulnerabilities, grief and loss, eating disorders, drug and alcohol problems, trauma, PTSD, mood disorders and relationship issues.

 

She aims to provide the necessary skills to enable and empower clients and couples to become their own therapist and am always open and willing to provide top up sessions post completion of treatment to reinforce the skills and learning if and when needed.

Catherine is an endorsed Clinical Psychologist and Board Approved Supervisor with 14 years’ experience, including 10 years in private practice. Catherine has experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings, providing individual, couple, family and group therapy and interventions. She has worked in hospital, community and educational settings, including psychiatric inpatient units, disability support services, neuropsychological rehabilitation, older adult’s mental health, juvenile justice, young offender programs, metabolic rehabilitation and delivered psychology coursework to students at University of Wollongong.

Sarah Douglas

Sarah is a registered Psychologist with 20 years of trauma-informed practice supporting children, adolescents, adults, carers, couples, families, groups and professionals to wholeheartedly live rich and meaningful lives. Always starting from a trauma-informed base, Sarah conducts evidence-based assessments, consultations and psychological interventions through collaboration and attending to strengths and values.

 

With qualifications and 15 years experience in Clinical Supervision, Coaching, Mentoring and Management, Sarah strives to empower and facilitate growth and professional development within the human services sector, delivering individual and group supervision, mentoring and coaching.

 

Sarah is passionate about co-creating safe, respectful and empowering relationships and communities, where all perspectives are valued and creativity and innovation thrive. Sarah is currently working towards accreditation as an Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapist and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner.

David Patton 

Adult and Older Adult Clinical Psychologist
(Associate - Available in Bowral)

David initially trained as a psychologist at the University of New South Wales and the University of Sydney. He commenced his career as a Psychologist and became a Senior Psychologist with the Royal Australian Air Force. He was then selected for a personnel management leadership program by the Australian Public Service Board and furthered his career undertaking roles in human resources, training and development, consulting and as a psychologist.

 

He worked in both the private and public sectors and, prior to returning to his original vocation as a psychologist, was a senior human resources executive for many years performing national and international roles in a large corporate multinational.

In recent years he has undertaken post graduate studies in clinical psychology. In his Master of Psychology (Clinical) degree he undertook specialist subjects in Geropsychology, as well as a clinical placement at the Healthy Brain Ageing Unit, Brain and Mind Research Institute at the University of Sydney. His master’s thesis was a study of self reported cognitive complaints in older adults.

David is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia as a Psychologist (PSY0001336219) with approved area of practice - clinical psychology. He lives and practices in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales. His primary professional interests are helping people in the community who may be experiencing a diverse range of mental health issues. He has a special interest in older adult psychology including assessment for mood disorders, memory loss and dementia as well as cognitive testing to assess cognitive functioning for a range of conditions. He recently completed a Diploma in Clinical Hypnosis with the Australian Society of Hypnosis and increasingly integrates hypnosis into his practice.

In addition to his recent up-to-date clinical training he is able to leverage his extensive background as a senior human resources and employee relations executive to provide a range of services to individuals and organisations such as coaching and employee development, grievance and complaint handing, workplace investigations and strategic HR advice.
